What's the booking process?

The first step is to find out if Murphy’s Beauty Law is available the date of the wedding. Once you’ve completed the Bridal Questionnaire, we will contact you to discuss further details. You will be given the opportunity to secure your date immediately by paying a $100 retainer payment. This amount will be deducted from the final balance the day of the wedding. Once your deposit is received you will receive a booking confirmation and we can move forward in getting details ready for your trial (if you have not had it at this point). No dates will be guaranteed without a signed contract and a security deposit.

Can I have a trial before I book?

Do you have any experience with mature, ethnic, or acne skin?

Of course! Being a licensed esthetician, I have worked with all skin types, conditions and shades. Understanding the skin and working WITH it to ensure you get the best look on the outside while still remaining healthy for your skin.

What type of products do you use?

Temptu Airbrush, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Becca Cosmetics, MAC, Kat Von D,  Kett Cosmetics, Laura Mercier, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Benefit, Nars, etc.

Trials are mandatory for the bride. This is such a crucial part of making sure you feel gorgeous! Trials are to make you more at ease the day of your wedding because you know exactly what you're getting. Having your trial run behind you, you can sit back and relax on your wedding day knowing that you love the look you chose.

Absolutely!

You should be aware, that appointments do book up quite far in advance, especially during the height of wedding season. It is unlikely that a trial appointment will be available immediately so you would run the risk of loosing out on your date in the meantime.

A date is not held without a completed contract and deposit.

How long will my makeup last?

The makeup is to last all day, about 12-16 hours. Most brides say how they slept in their makeup and looked great the next day (Don't sleep in your makeup!!!). Based on certain weather conditions, you shouldn't have much of a problem as the airbrush is to withstand that as it is made especially for lasting all day. Crying is ok too; after all it is your wedding! Just remember to dab away those tears.  Blotting paper or a setting powder is always a good idea to touch up throughout the day as well as the lips.

Do you have a minimum amount of services to book a wedding?

During the busy wedding season May-November there is a minimum of 5 adult makeup services. In the event that less than 5 adult services are required, please fill out the contact form and we can talk further about the booking minimum.

Please be conservative in the number of services you list on your contract. If you are unsure at the time you complete your contract, please list only the minimum required and add services as your wedding date approaches. This will prevent you from potentially paying for more services than you actually need if you over commit early on.

Bridal Trials

Can I have a trial before I book?

Yes you can! However, booking a trial does not guarantee a booking.  Appointments do go fast, especially during busy wedding season. Some brides prefer to do their trial appointment as soon as possible but could risk loosing their wedding date while waiting for their trial.

A date is not held without a completed contract and deposit.

What is the trial process?

Where do trials take place?

Trials should be planned at least 6-3 months before your wedding. Trials are to be scheduled on weekdays due to the nature of the business and commitment to weddings previously booked. The exception to trials on weekends is if trials are wished to be booked on days of bridal showers or other engagements, we can try to arrange that if the date is available or if there is a weekend available. Trials are great to have with mothers, bridesmaids or close family members. Many brides like to do a small get together at their house and have drinks and appetizers. I urge you to invest time and research into what your vision is for the day of your wedding. Social media and online reviews are a great way to help you make your decision. When there are realistic expectations and good communication there is not a problem in achieving the looking you desire. Always allow for a ‘trial and error’ during your process but it is my goal for you to love you makeup 100%.

We come to you for your trial as well as your wedding! Everything is onsite so you can relax and not hassle with anything but getting dolled up! There is no travel fee for your trial.

How far will you travel?

We travel anywhere and everywhere for your special day. Depending on how far we have to travel there may be an additional travel charge and hotel stay.

I have a large bridal party, can you accommodate us?

We provide services no matter how large the party is. Depending on time constraints, a second artist can assist if requested. If parties need to be finished very early in the day then another artist will be added.

Why get a professional artist vs myself or a friend?

Here are a few of the reasons why you should consider a Professional make-up artist for your wedding day. If any of these apply to you, then it's probably worth having a professional make-up artist.

  • You are unsure what colors to use and how best to apply make-up for the photography.

  • You want the make-up to last all day.

  • You would be too nervous on the morning of the wedding to apply your own make-up.

  • You want to be pampered on your wedding day.

  • You want your wedding pictures to look flawless.

  • You have spent so much money on your photographer, dress, shoes, jewelry, and reception hall. Why would you want to skimp out on your face?

Are your prices negotiable?

Nope ! When it comes to hiring a professional makeup artist for on-location or personal services, you definitely get what you pay for! When you hire us, you are hiring an experienced professional that comes to YOU. The level of skill and expertise that you can expect is far superior to hiring your sister, other relative, friend or a cosmetic sales-person from the mall. We will however give you the best possible pricing and options that best suites you and your wedding.

When can I book you?

You can book as soon as you want! We book out a year in advance and dates are taken fast so the sooner the better to secure your date.

I have more questions or I want to book you now. What's the next step?

You can send an email at murphysbeautylaw@gmail.com or fill out the form in our contact page.
